Vancouver Okinawa Taiko has been performing in numerous cultural festivals, charity functions, sporting events and anniversary events for 15 years. The group’s aim is to promote and preserve Okinawan style drum-dancing Eisa, and to share Okinawan Cultural heritage. Our membership consists of a mix of generations to reflect presentation of grassroots folk art.
バンクーバー沖縄太鼓は、これまで数多くのお祭り,チャリティー、スポーツ、祝賀イベント等に出演させて頂き、お蔭様で１５周年を迎えました。私たちは、沖縄伝統文化のエイサーの啓蒙、保存、沖縄文化の紹介普及を目的として活動しています。メンバーは１０代から５０代の幅広い年齢層で構成され、草の根的民俗芸能を継承、発信しています。
