This Labour Day weekend, Nikkei Matsuri returns with Mini Matsuri, a scaled-down festival celebrating Japanese culture, held at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre. Join us, as we come together as a community to unleash the spirit of matsuri for all to enjoy!
Since January 2020, Nikkei Centre has responded and navigated the precautions, procedures and regulations required to face the challenges presented by COVID-19. Protocols have been updated for Mini Matsuri with advanced timed-entry tickets to manage congestion, while performances will be held primarily outdoors. Many of your favourite food vendors are back, as is the Beer Garden featuring Japanese SAKE. Children can enjoy games in the event hall and there will be lots of space to sit and enjoy the fun.
The Organizing Committee is working hard to prepare for Matsuri weekend and we’re ready to welcome you back to this family-friendly event for all ages. We hope to see you September 4th and 5th!

コロナ禍でのイベントを企画・開催することは、たくさんのハードルを越えなければなりません。
昨年は保健省からの規定を踏まえて、野外にて日本文化マーケットを開催し、今年は縮小型でミニ祭りを開催することになりました。
感染が心配という方たちもいらっしゃると思いますが、日系センターに集うことの大切さ、お祭りの臨場感を感じてもらいたいという思いで準備を進めてきました。
コロナ対策としては入場時間指定の前売りチケット販売による入場者数制限、パフォーマンスは野外中心としました。
フード屋台も復活し、ビアガーデンでは日本酒の販売もあります。館内では子供向けゲーム、休憩用スペースを十分に用意します。
実行委員会、ボランティアが、幅広い年齢の皆さんに楽しんでいただけるよう、それぞれの持ち場で周到な準備をしています。
レイバーデーの連休は、ご家族揃ってミニ祭りにお出かけください。
