“Iaido (pronounced “Ee-aido”) is a traditional martial art based on the use of the Katana, with a focus on sword drawing and situational response. Through practice at a deeper level, practitioners aim to achieve unification of spirit, body, and sword. Historically practiced by the ruling samurai class, Iai has evolved to be available for the general public. At Nikkei Center, we practice the standard set of Seitei Iai as introductory syllabus. As students progress to advanced levels, more forms are introduced from the Muso Shinden school will be introduced.”
