Get ready to be entertained! Local performers will showcase taiko drumming, a dynamic samurai show, traditional Japanese dance, as well as an idol unit and impressive martial arts demonstrations.

Food & Drinks

Satisfy your cravings with delicious Japanese festival foods from Yatai street food stalls, food trucks, and the Nikkei Cafe. Adults can unwind at the Beer & Sake Garden.

Otakara Market

Find unique items at the Japanese flea market run by the Nikkei Auxiliary volunteers. Goods include Japanese dishware, home decor, artwork, kimonos (including accessories) and more.

Japanese Pop Culture Market

Want to sell your Japanese pop culture goods? We're taking applications for this new addition to the festival.

Tea Café

Enjoy the intricate flavours of cold brewed Japanese tea by Teakan, a boutique Tea Company based in Vancouver. Japanese tea specialist Janice Chan will be on hand to answer your tea questions.

Arts & Crafts Activity Room

Drop in to do some fun Japanese themed crafts or sign up for one of the kids origami (paper folding art) workshops.

Kids Game Zone

Test your skills in the Game Zone and win some prizes.

Pokémon Room

Check back soon for details on this room hosted by the Pokémon League.

Obon Dance

Join the members of Satsuki-kai for a festive circle dance in the garden at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. Everyone is encouraged to participate. No experience necessary.

Yukata Rental

Wear a colourful summer kimono (yukata). Fumiko Horan and her team of friendly dressers are happy to welcome anyone who wants to partake in this popular festival tradition.

Seniors & Intergenerational Lounge

Take a break at the Kenko Wellness Lounge and enjoy delicious Japanese food made by Nikkei Home.
